HC2 Recovery image corrupt

Question

Posted

Hi Everyone, long term fan of Fibaro here, struggling with something weird that is happening ...

I have a HC2 for many years now.

The light went off and for some reason it changed the IP address to 192.168.81.1 (No there is not any other DHCP in the network, and these ranges are completely unrecognized)

All scheduled tasks and zwave are working, but of course no internet connectivity. Even if I changed the whole house to be in the 192.168.81.0/24 network, still no connection.

If I connect to the HC2 in that network, I see the interface and can login, but when I try to go to the Lan settings in the configuration, it kind of hangs up, and never gets there.

I can boot in recovery mode, and tried:

- Repair System - Automatically update to the latest version, fails since it doesnt have connectivity

- Recover System fails, saying that the image is corrupted

- Repair from file works, I chose this one update.fibaro.com/hc2/4.620/patch.7z It works, updates, boots, but again, same symptoms.

ANY OTHER IDEAS?? I AM GETTING CRAZY OVER HERE :(

Thanks!

I ended up in the same scenario as above. After power loss and trying to recover the unit, the IP changed to static 192.168.81.1.
I changed the IP of the computer in the same range (192.168.81.2), I can access the system, but when I access the Network configuration page is loading forever. I never get the chance to change the IP. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Solved it myself with the same procedure available for HC3…keep the recovery/learn button for 20 seconds and the network settings will be set to default.

hello guys,

Same problem.

I want the device to factory state because i cant acces the hc2, access forbidden and wrong user/pass. Also when i want to forget password i get the message forbidden.
When i want to restore the hc2 it message me that it is corrupted.
And that make sense becuase i am in the 192.168.81.1 range, and i think thats because i am on local range.
So there is no internet.
When i want to restore it boots but it stay on the static 1922.168.81.1 ip.
The 20 seconds suggestion from @cristimv doesnt work.

Thanks in advanche

See above if your HC2 is on Ip 192.168.81.1 you need to change IP of your computer see manual.

Then you can acces HC2 and change IP back to what is was.

You will have your original configuration also back.

succes
