Hello dear @m.roszak,

Can I upgrade pre production HC3 that is for some reason missing Nice chip to the future firmware releases or version 5.100.22 is the last one?

If not then what can be done to prolong its life or it is PFG or EOL?

BTW both attempts to install latest two betas ended up in recovery mode and then restored back to 5.100.22

For those who doesn't know what PFG means: Piece For Garbage :-)

Just send us to us, we will solder missing components and send it back ;)

    Hi@m.roszak ,

Thank you for quick short answer.

Should I send it to Wysogotowo or some other postal address?

Is there any procedure to do this?

In addition to postal costs, how much it will cost for soldering of the missing components?

Is there a possibility that you send me missing components and I do the soldering myself since that option is definitely cheaper?

Yes @Sjekke  and definitely more ecological, thanks for pointing that out. ?

No additional costs, the best is RMA procedure to make sure that the package will arrive directly to service.

As this is not as simple as it seams, without schematic you won't be able to do this (it is not one component to solder).

    Michał

    Hehehe...  it definitely isn't ;)

I soldered the memory chip and added a few of the other components, guessing how this chip with I2C would interface...

Of course it did not work but because the Fib Firmware was able to work without this memory, until now, I did not have much incentive to get the logic analyser out, open my production HC3 and compare values and so on. Probably, while probing the board, I would short circuit something and kill my HC in doing so, making the project even more fun.

Did I say my hobby isn't actually Home Automation, but diy electronics and repair?

Thanks for reviving my hobby, Fibaro!

Mmmmmmm... I did not kill my HC3. In fact, it was a N00B error, I soldered the memory and a bunch of resistors, but then forgot the 3V3 connection. After giving that little memory chip its power supply, it works a lot better. LOL It is doable, but only if you have some experience, eg soldering 0603 SMD is a requirement...
