Direct association of FGDW-002 does not work when HC2 is not aviable

Jay Age

Question

Hi,

I have a Fibaro door sensor FGDW-002 and a Fibaro Double Smart Module FGS-224 in my environment with a Home Center 2 (Firmware 4.620). I have configured a direct association in the door sensor that is turning the Switch 1 of the Double Smart Module off after 5 seconds when the magnet is away. And when the magnet is back the switch 1 of the Double Smart Module is going to be turned on after 1 second. I made the direct association because I want a fall back when the Home Center is not aviable for any reason. So far so good, everything works fine as long as the Home Center 2 is up and running. As soon as the Home Center is turned of the direct association does not work anymore.

It would be great if someone could give me an advice how to configure the direct association that works when the HC2 is unaviable.

Thank You!

It should work but with some (not small) delay.

Due the Z-Wave requirements device must send the report with the state to the controller first and after that - associations to other devices.
Because of not accessible controller device re-transmits the report to the gateway few times before sending the associations.

If you remove the gateway from 1 association group (lifeline) it will work instantly every time but state in the gateway won't be updated.

  • Thank you m.roszak for you fast responds. I removed the association from the gateway and it works even the gateway is down. But thats not exaclty what I was looking for. Is there no solution to set a direct association AND to see the state of the sensor in the gateway??
