I have a question. Why can't I get a result? A 4 In my example. 

 

print(function() return (2+2) end)

In this case your value is only the function object - not the "calling of" the function, and it will print out something like "function: 0x600000e0b000"

To call the function you need to add () at the end (and wrap the function definition in() too, because "end()" is not allowed.

print((function() return (2+2) end)())
