Just lately I have noticed that the battery levels on all devices are always 100% (HC2 gateway)

Recently two motion and one door sensors didn't send any reports  for few days, the batteries have dead (no voltage at all) while on UI the battery levels are 100% for all of them!

On one device I have used (on purpose) with low battery, still the UI shows 100%.

Any body else has same behavior?

I have the same or similar issue on my HC2 and I reported the issue to Fibaro.

Hello,

On my HomeCenter 2 version V4.620 batttery levels for all my devices
(Fibaro, Popp) are not updating anymore. It always did work fine in the
past. Sensors now suddenly die on empty battery without warning which is
unacceptable for my alarm system.

Is this a known problem and is there a solution or workaround available.

I got the following disappointing answer

Hello,
Thank you for your message.
We know this issue. Now at the moment we don't have any solution. You need to delete device and add one more time to the system after a discharged battery.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Until now I do not have a working solution and I don't expect Fibaro will ever solve the issue.

Did you try to install Sankotronics VD batteries?

    Or this one?

    Succes

    @Sjakie

I assume all check battery VD's or QA's all use the device property "batteryLevel" and the problem is that this property is no longer updated by the system.

same problem here, support told me to soft reconfigure battery devices, but battery always show 100%, after soft reconfiguration i loose name and room association , need to reconfigure it.

I'll try to insert a not completely discharged battery and soft reconfigure as described by support, see below.

    Hello.
Ok, can you please change that battery to some other that you know that is discharged?
And then please perform soft reconfiguration and check if it would still show 100% then.
    Looking forward to your feedback.

Generally devices readout the battery level on some intervals, just after putting the battery its level may not be correct.
As for battery level in motion sensors, in newest device firmware we fixed the issue with reporting low battery - other than that, it should work ok.

In the devices will smaller batteries (ER14250) it is really hard to measure battery level due the battery discharge curve - if the sensor is used often it should work ok, in other cases it may show higher % than it is reality.

We will look into it again to make sure if nothing is wrong on the gateway side.

I tried now to swap the batteries of two devices one of which had not been changed for at least 2 years, but after soft reconfiguration the battery level is shown as 100%. I also tried removing the device and adding it again but nothing changes, the battery is always at 100%. I noticed that when I do the soft reconfiguration I lose the name and room assignment. It's probably been a while that it doesn't report the battery level correctly anymore because I've noticed several times that the sensors stop working because they have a completely low battery. The smoke and water leakage sensors seem to read the battery level correctly. I have tried with the new model and also with the old one but nothing changes, in both cases it loses the name and the room assignment, but the battery always reports fully charged. I read on the official forum that other users have the same problem and that a colleague of his replied that the problem is known but there is no solution, it seems impossible, also because so the alarm is unusable, the sensors could be completely discharged and not report the opening of doors or windows. I hope you can solve the problem for me.Thank you

one of two devices before swapping batteries reported a low battery, now both 100%

I can understand this problem, maybe Fibaro could consider to add an aditional message / option to the "Battery empty message"

    Something like this.

Battery empty / No value drop in battery power for X weeks.. Then you now you have to keep an eye on this device. Or change the Battery after a year. Even its still at 100%.

That's absolutely correct, but before the update the batteries level ( not only for Fibaro sensors) have been reported good enough to know when to replace the battery. Now only if something goes wrong  then you can notify that the battery level is low and need to be replaced. . Already had six  sensors that need to replace the battery while no notification from the gateway received and on UI it shows 100%

We will look into it again to make sure if nothing is wrong on the gateway side.

    Thank you for that

As a workaround I run a check_alive scene once a day (when @home) to notify me if the lastBreached property is older then for example 24 hours for a motion sensor and a week for a window sensor.

It helps, but is not an acceptable solution for holidays when the alarm system is most needed.

If on holiday renew all batteries who are with battery tester not fully green.

You can use them later if one is empthy.
