RING Alarm Outdoor Contact Sensor

Question

Posted

Hello,

I've added a RING Alarm Outdoor Contact Sensor on my HC3, but the status of the sensor is always "Never breached", I tried adding an association on endpoint 0, channel 1, either controller (multichannel) or controller (singlechannel) but nothing changed. Every time the sensor is opened or closed it communicates with the HC3 but the state does not change.

Did anyone manage to get RING contact sensors working on HC3 ?

More details on the sensor can be found here:

Please login or register to see this link.

Attached is the template from my HC3.

Kr,

Stefan

How do you know if it is communicating with HC3?

Can I suggest to download

to monitor HC3 activities, then you will be able to see if Ring sends commands and what values.

let me know if you need help to use HC-WebEye

Querying the API for this device I get the following:

If I open the back cover I can see the "tamper" property changing to "true", but no other change, I tried querying with the sensor closed or opened but was not able to see any difference in the returned payload.

I got HC-WebEye working but only for service status, for anything else I get:
     [HTTP: 501 Not Implemented]

    As an example:

    -------------------------- debug information v2.0 ------------------------

GET https://10.113.127.207//api/refreshStates?last=1 [HTTP: 501 Not Implemented]
GET https://10.113.127.207//api/refreshStates?last=NaN [HTTP: 501 Not Implemented]

Any help with this is appreciated.

Usually https works with address hc3-0000001.local (not with numeric IP) after certification installation, that why you receive error 501....

Did you install certification on your PC?

Does your HC3 supports http and https?

    Try to use http instead

    Hi Stefan,

have you ever succeeded to find a solution to the problem? I have the same Ring Outdoor Contact Sensor and HC3 (v5.160) and I cannot find a solution :-(

Also, I can add the device easily to my HC3 but I can only select the "Motion Sensor" role.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Roberto
