Same here. I have been considering if I should get a smart irrigation controller recently. Is it really worth the money?

I stumbled upon

about the benefits of smart irrigation controllers today, and now I'm scratching my head wondering if it's really worth the investment. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, I have 8 zones. If you have any brands to recommend, please let me know! Thank you. 😁

Maybe I help little bit crossing out RainBird as this system is totally rubbish. I have it on 8 zones and it's really bad. It's not that it doesn't work. It works but connection and functions are so outdated that it's unbelievable that it's still in the market.

I would choose right now system based only on Fibaros. Maybe smart implant?

We have 4 Rainbird valves for 4 different zones.
We used to have a very small Rainbird computer we had to re-program it every year....

So I replaced it with a 24 VAC adapter and zwave switches.
With that we can use the irrigation schedule in the HC3.
On the HC3, it also can be combined with weather info to influence the schedule.
