HC2 not able to boot in recovery mode

Question

Posted (edited)

All,

I’m trying to boot an unused HC2 in recovery mode. Rebooting while holding the + button during power up fails, tried many times.

Only the following page is displayed for hours but nothing happens:

Can someone assist me how to fix this?

If you still have that "dongle" called "recovery drive" plugged into the side of the HC2 then remove it, it is not needed and can block the boot process. Then power of and power on.

If that is not it, your CMOS battery might be low, you'll find hints if you type CMOS in "search" on this website, but before that I would recommend "put a LCD screen on that HC2" and see what it says.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    A little extra explanation:

The HC2 that does not go into recovery (at least not with the desired functionality) is a leftover of a migration to another HC2 remotely executed by the Fibaro service desk. The device itself starts up and also looks normal at first sight, until for example you want to add a device or apply a firmware update. It seems like the system stops working every time a popup should appear. Obviously I tried different browsers without succes.

According to Fibaro's technical service, the database was corrupted and the migration was the only solution to keep al z-wave (and other) settings. But of course I would like to get the old HC2 up and running again, I don't think there is anything wrong with the hardware.

Anyhow I'll open the device tonight and hook up a monitor. The recovery USB is removed since I'm running firmware > 4.6.
