HC3+HC3lite ... update suscessfull

Posted

Personalmente, es la primera vez que se actualiza y todo está funcionando a la perfección, incluso la memoria RAM ha bajado de 67 a 32, algo realmente increíble que fibaro haya hecho algo bien (HC3)

    WARNING....

    I updated yesterday and end up with a HC3 Master gateway that cannot start the system.  All slave gateways (1 HC3, 7 HC3L) went through the update just fine.  Only one HC3 slave gateway seems to take much longer to restart because I have over 1xx devices connected to that slave gateway (earlier firmware restart much quicker than this one).

    For the HC3 Master gateway, the screen keeps showing "Starting Service..." and keep restarting itself every 12 minutes.  I guess my HC3 Master gateway has about 200 devices connected to it.  I remember I experienced this LONGGGG "Starting Service until it time out and restart repeatedly problem" before in the way earlier beta firmware but this problem was fixed for quite sometime, not sure why this problem is now back in this firmware version.  I remembered the support team told me that my system has a lot of devices and it take longer to boot than most system but the system time out limit reached before my system complete the start up so the system thought something went wrong and restart the system automatically so my system can never finish the boot up.

    It look me hours last night to use recovery mode and try update the firmware through "repair" mode and luckily it went through and I can log in to the system with this new firmware version.  However, my current problem is every time if I want to backup my system or restart the system or power outage, the "starting service" problem will come back and I cannot restart the system again.  Which I have to then again go back into recovery mode and redo everything again.

    I would suggest people with a lot of devices connect to the gateway delay upgrading to this firmware version and I hope this will be fixed in the next version.

    @m.roszak Can I contact you for an arrangement to have Fibaro team to check my system and do a hot fix for the time being so at least I can backup or restart my system?  Thank you in advance.

    Thank you for reporting back about this and indeed a fair warning...

    You can also try to collect "logsdump" diagnostics and send them to them. I am not sure if the system is stable enough but it is worth a shot.

    This was recommended by @m.roszakso I am sure I am allowed to give this advice:

    To download logs use:  <gatewayIP>/api/service/logsDump

    Thanks!  I downloaded the log dump as you advice.  Will sent it to Fibaro.

    3 x HC3 all good and well.

    It seems I have a bit more issues with my Heat It Z-TRM3 thermostats than before, but nothing blocking.

    @Poom As I understand all your gateways are now on 5.112 (up and running).
    Could you confirm?

    @m.roszak

    Yes, all my gateways are now on 5.112 (up and running).  However, I have many problem running on this firmware and most importantly I cannot back up the system.  The system is very unstable when I tried to make changes to scenes and device names which sometime the system hangs and I have to unplug the master gateway to restart.  I also notice scene sometimes started almost 30 seconds after the trigger.  All these never happened before I upgraded.  I created support ticket #216585 to describe all my problems for 7 days now but no support action to fix my system yet.  Please help.
