Replace dimmer and keep device ID

Hi,
I have one broken dimmer that I need to replace with a new one but I would like all scripts and scenes to keep running as usual after switching to the new device.
Can anyone give me som advise on best practice on that?

    So that makes me have to change the ID in all scripts and scenes manually...?

    I way to solve this (but only for the future I’m afraid).

    Assign the device id to a named variable in the variables panel.

    Use this variabel in all scripts and scenes. Now when you have to change out a device, just change the variable with the new device id.

    This approach has saved me quite a bit a time and frustration when I had to replace a device.
