Sorry, I only use software based weather stations. For air quality I use DIY sensors.

What kind of software do you use?

My QuickApp to get weather information from the (Dutch) KNMI weather institute, the (Dutch) Buienradar QuickApp for rain forecasts. Those are mostly for The Netherlands, Belgium and parts of Germany, France and GB area.

For air quality I use several QuickApps for PM, Pollen, etc.

Offcourse it is nice to have your own weatherstation, but not necessary.

    real local weather station?

You can try Davis "Vantage Vue" or "Vantage Pro 2", with "WeatherLink Live" and the QuickApp which i created. Additionally, you can use "AirLink Air Quality", with another one QuickApp. This is for sure not a cheap solution, but for sure really good one.

Thank you, but the price of mentioned weather stations are horrible.

Registration can be a bit of a hassle, but once you're in, you'll have access to a wealth of information and community support.
Regarding weather stations, I've been exploring options myself. Ambient Weather has some great choices that integrate well with smart home systems like HC3. Their stations offer reliable data and easy integration, which is perfect for keeping an eye on the weather from your smart home setup.
I've been thinking about getting one for my own smart home. Living in an area with unpredictable weather, having a reliable weather station connected to my HC3 would be incredibly helpful. Check them out at

    Eh,.. old thread..

I also use OpenWeathermAP SW solution. I have this processed in both QA and ESP32 with display.

Everything has its pros and cons.

For local proceedings, for example, blinds (according to wind, sunlight, rain) are preferable to use your local weather station (it can respond to the current conditions at the installation site).

SW application is preferable for predictive management, forecast reports, etc.

And of course, automation is solved where the combination is suitable.

For example, I can plan the irrigation. As a condition, I will add a local weather station and evaluate that it did not rain sufficiently (mm/m2) and add the irrigation. And similar scenarios.

    eM.

ale we have QA to support weather cloud services in HC3

And it works really nice. The station is a steal for that price.
