Temperature scene

Question

Posted

Need help setting up a block scene for HC3 based on outside temperature.
When the temperature drops below -5 degrees and colder, a heating coil connected to the wall plug turn on and when the temperature rises above 0 degrees, it switches off.

Sounds like you need to have two blockscenes, for turning on and for turning off.

What do you have up til now?

I have done this two different scenes, but not sure if they should be >= or == or > in symbols

Looks ok. Maybe you should also add a notification, next to turning on or off the heating coil. So you get some insight.

    ok!

    thanks for the support.
but have I understood it correctly that >=0 means that when the temperature is = 0 or above 0 it turns off the system and <= -5 means that when the temperature is -5 or lower like -10 it turns the system on?

    Indeed, in text:

temperature greater than or equal to zero

temperature smaller than or equal to minus five

ofcourse you could experiment a bit with the blockscenes. Just use only a notification or a light. I don’t know if it is already that cold in Sweden, but you could use the temperature range of, for example, -1 to +3 if that temperature is around the current temperature in Sweden.
