How do I update heat controllers (without HC)

Bassey

Question

Hi,

I have bought 7 heat controllers for Homekit. They seem to be at a very old firmware, even though I bought them new.

How do I update these heat controllers to the current firmware? I do not have a home center and do not need one for my home either.

Seems like you can’t: that’s why I bought a Home Center lite. Even then the process is ridiculously complicated, you can’t use the mobile app for it, and so far my efforts to update to 4.9 have failed. I thought Athom Homey was still under development, but Fibaro feels like it’s running behind

Is the update process proprietary?  ZWave+ supports OTA updates, and a few platforms (Like Z-Way) have already implemented it.  It would be nice if the newer Fibaro equipment would follow this standard and publish the firmware files.  It's a pain in the rear to have to exclude a device, send it to the dealer for an upgrade, re-include it, then edit all the scenes that use it to account for the new device nr.
