FGT Heat Controller for underfloor water heating?

Question

Posted

So I put some FGT heads on my heaters and they seem to work well.

Now I'm thinking to put these heads to my underfloor heating.

I have simple installation - so far, bathroom and kitchen section are operated by RTL valves.

Can these RTL valves be swapped with Fibaro FGT ?

They will not work with underfloor heating as they need some room to get correct temperature measurements of the room.

If there is no valve control in underfloor heating you have now, meaning thermostat that controls the valve electrically (you would just reconnect the wires), then you would need something like Heatit Z-Water and create linkded device thermostat.

But this Z-Water device will control what ?

At this moment my underfloor loops are connected in parallel with standard heaters. No additional valves or pumps.

As I said this is as simple installation as possible (I already told the company who installed it for me what I'm thinking but at this stage rework is not possible - it would require to dig into the floor all over the house :)

So - on every loop, there is RTL valve - it seats just over the floor, sticking out of the wall - works the same way as thermostat heads on standard heaters. RTL controls the temp of the return water and opens/closes when needed.

I was thinking to use it with this dedicated temp sensor.
