Door/Window Sensor 2 works only 3/4 days

Question

Posted

This is the 3rd time when I am changing battery. In first two it worked for more less 4 days and died. Do have default settings so would expect it to work much longer.

What can be wrong and why baterry level is not changing (finally battery is dead)? Is it normal that door sensor is notifying me that „device is awake” each ~10s (the message as in screenshot shows in that frequency).

Definitely not, it should sleep for several hours - check "wake up interval" settings of the device in here:

Adjust if necessary to at least few hours.

also check the battery. Do not use other compatible batteries as they have very poor performance.  Use the original EVE ones.

    Thx for info.

Yes, I've used original battery 1st time and next 2 times exactly the same battery (still have 3 additional ones).

And yes, the settings are set to default. I've even typed some message to support at 28th of December 2022 but have no response from them.

I could try some more setups as well but am thinking that am doing everything correctly and see no point wasting batteries and time without some more meaningful input. The device does not require update. At this point it looks like this is hardware issue which would be rather unusual...
Below my message sent to support for which did not received feedback yet (it was in polish - translated it in Google translator to not type from scratch in english):

"I have a Door/Window Sensor 2 since October. Initially, the device was configured to send a notification when the door was opened (configuration from the device's notification level). As far as I remember, the system worked more or less correctly, but after 3-4 days it stopped functioning (the battery was dead). The device has been inactive since then. In the first days of December I got a new battery and tried to activate the device again. Again after 3-4 days the battery died and the system stopped working. On Friday before Christmas I played a bit with the system trying to configure it using another 3 batteries that died again today. When configuring the device before Christmas, after adding it, it repeatedly sent the status of the door opening sensor and the temperature measurement at 10s intervals - visible in the history of events (I do not know if this is one of the reasons for the battery discharge). Multiple attempts to restore the device to factory settings, removing it and adding it again resulted in sending events every 10s again (faulty in my opinion). Occasionally, the device was able to start by sending events at predefined time intervals or reacting to events such as opening a door. Unfortunately, after 2-3 correct door opening signals, the system lost connection with the device and did not respond (it is/was configured so that the scene reacts to an alarm associated with opening the door). In the fixture panel, all 3 D/W S2 fixtures have an hourglass. In the preview, the status of the sensor shows constantly intact. What's more, the battery shows 100% for each of the 3 cases, although I would expect a decrease in capacity. Finally, the battery was removed on Friday. Yesterday I returned to the topic. I was able to reconnect the device so that it would not send data every 10 seconds (around 7 pm). I tested the correct operation of the system, which showed correct behavior after 5 attempts. While leaving for work this morning, I did not receive a notification of a door breach/opening. After returning, it turned out that the device lost contact with the base station again and the battery was exhausted. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong configuring the device. On December 25, I was configuring 2 such devices as a Christmas present at my parents' house, and in this case everything works as far as I know."
