How to download and process json files from a web site

RuneW

Question

We have a nice web page i Norway that returns the power prices for a given date as a json file. This is an example

"https://www.hvakosterstrommen.no/api/v1/prices/2023/01-09_NO5.json"

But even if I have done some lua programming, programming the HC2 is sucking the life force out of me...

I try something like this (never mind the hard coded date):

Please login or register to see this code.

But calling the function results in this:

[DEBUG] 22:53:46: Calling getPrices()
[DEBUG] 22:53:46: 2023-01-09 22:53:46.449922 [ error] Handshake error: certificate verify failed
[DEBUG] 22:53:46: 2023-01-09 22:53:46.451741 [ error] Handshake error: bad message type

The certificate can't be checked by the HC3. Is the site legit with a self signed cert you can bypass the check (security risk!!) with checkCertificate = false:
