Does adding external sensor override the built-in contacts?

Question

Posted

If I were to connect an external sensor, does that override the input from the built-in contacts or does is supplement them. In other words if I had the main sensor on the floor with an external sensor wired in, would it generate an alarm if the main sensor was in water, or would it only be if the external sensor is in water?

The manual talks about the external wire "extending" the contacts, so both should still provide an alarm when wet.

With my unit powered off, I tested continuity between the contacts on the bottom and the internal screw post. There is continuity. So it is the same contact circuitry.
