HC3 scene trigger - RGBW controller II

RSX

Question

Hi there,

I'd like to turn an RGBW strip on using a single wall switch.

That switch isn't wired back to the strip, so I'd be looking to use a dry contact closure to trigger the on/off control of the controller, or a group of controllers.

What hardware do I need to achieve that? My assumption is it would be smart implant to trigger a scene? But I've not done it before and struggling to find any documentation on it.

Thanks

  • Just had a thought - using smart implant, I'd need a DC power supply. But the switch for the RGBW strips will be in a wall box next to other 'normal' lighting circuits. So there will be mains power nearby.

So could I do it with a mains powered device instead?

Thanks @Fabir. Just so I know we're both on the same page here, the RGBW strip has an RGBW II controller. So this switch2 module you recommend is able to just be used as a trigger for a scene, right?

@RSX the question is, if your existing RGBW II controller is also a zwave device. I gues not. If you want to keep your existing RGBW controller, the switch module mentioned above, would only turn on/off the power to it.

If you want to have full controll and switch the collors of your led strips with fibaro homecenter and the yubii App, you could use the fibaro
