Pairing Aeotec Home Energy meter Gen 5 with HC3

Question

Posted

Unable to pair Single phase 60 amp Aeotec Home Energy meter Gen 5 with Fibaro HC3 ( Software version 5.130.64 )

HC3 Detects and starts the pairing process, but it fails during configuration. The sequence of messages on the HC3 are as follows:-

- Requesting Neighbours
- Multiple devices added ( Green backed messages appear and disappear)
- Detected device
- Configuring Please wait
- Stage failed and the interface just hangs and the browser has to be refreshed.

I have attempted the process several times, first removing the device, re adding, performing factory reset of the device but nothing seems to get me any further forward in the process.

Any hints tips to try would be appreciated

Hi. I have the same problem. Adding it as mentioned above solves the configuration problem. But no values come through then.

When I add it NWI then all value pulls through. And I can use it in scenes. The screen does however freeze up when adding it, then I just close it and reopen. And at the end it just show as not configured.

This started when the system advised that there is a template available, and I changed to the template.

    Hi Everyone,

I experience similar issues with aeotec home energy meter gen5  (single phase) with hc3 :

    A) When adding the device using the "normal procedure", the process endup with a "Failed" message. I end up to have several new IDs, each with "Not Configured" message (17 IDs in total). The IDs are showing values, that said, they do not refresh very often.

    B) When Adding the device seecing "Add in S0 Security mode if device supports it. The process is successful (And I do not have any "not configured" message on th 7 added IDs). But :

          B.1) no values are shown.

B.2) I have a blue "Locker" icon next to each ID in the device list view.

Has anyone same issue ? and I would appreciate advice to properly finalize the configuration.

    Regards

    Olivier

@Kobus007 @Nacho Badia@olivierA@JLT007Make sure you have the latest firmware on the energy meter. In order to get it, you have to open a support ticket on the aeotec website.

    Thanks a lot @Fabir
I have firmware version 1.37, which seems to be the latest one. That said, I opened a ticket to Aeotec and the support agent asked me to perform a firmware upgrade anyway attaching an .otz file to their email ... So that is the next action I am going to perform... Once I figure out how to do a firmware upgrade on this device... I'll keep you posted.

@olivierAJust yesterday I've updated the firmware of an aeotec sirene 6 zwave device.

First I've tried multiple times with a new aeotec zwave Gen5+ USB stick, connected to a win 11 pro laptop, without sucess.

Fourtuantely, I still have an old aeotec zwave Gen5 USB stick. With this device the firmware update on the sirene 6, was succesfull on the first try.

Trough the years, I've updated several aeotec devices, with this Gen5 USB stick.

Hello, I am sharing my experience with Energy meter - Single Phase  integration on HC3 :

    1) after Inclusion via "normal procedure", the device appears as "Not configured".
At this stage the issue was that the consumption data was not refreshing.

    2) I had to manual add a new association in the device configuration panel.

After inclusion, one association was configured :
     Source : Endpoint 0
     Group : Group 1

     Target : Controller (Multichannel)

I manually added the following association

     Source : Endpoint 0
     Group : Group 1

     Target : Controller (Singlechannel)

After adding this additional association to the "single channel controller target", the power meter is working fine.

The device is still in "not configured" state. But the consumption data is refreshing properly.

My next step is to integrate a 3-pahse energy meter to measure 3 different device consumption....
