Tuya Zigbee inteligent shut-off valve controller

robas1

Question

Hi,
1. do any of you use an intelligent water / gas valve closer from Tuya, Zigbee version with the HC3 control panel?

Such a valve can be bought on Aliexpress, e.g. here:

2. And connected to it, for example, such water leakage sensors:

3. Maybe you can recommend some other water flood sensors and automatic valve closing working with HC3 in the Zigbee or Z-Wave protocol, at a reasonable price, not what Fibaro proposes (1 pc of automatic valve closing costs PLN 400 / EUR 85?

I will be grateful for a reply as soon as possible.

@robas1I've made the same bad experience as @SmartHomeEddywith this valve close/opener.

I recommend to use a standard electric water valve and a switch module to open/close it.

  • Hi,

    thanks for your answers.

    Fabir,

Could you send an example of such a standard electric valve and how (with what) to connect this valve so that Fibaro (preferably in Z-Wave) can control it?

And do you have any experience with these flood sensors from Aliexpress? Do they work with HC3?

I tried a valve closer from AliExpress. It wasn't strong enough to close or open the valve.

    Hi

do you think it would be reasonable to buy double Switch 2 with 2 channels

Please login or register to see this link.

(I have 2 water valves close to each other) - 1 channel to open those 2 valves connected parallel, 1 channel to close those valves and connect it with 2 valves something like:

     ?

My intention is to make a scene where when I'm out of home (the alarm is switched on) the valves will automatically close. When is turn off the alarm they will automatically open. Of course later I want to add flood sensors like those

      those

     or those

(if they work with Fibaro HC3).

    Please advise.

These are the specs from the non smart valves:

You could make them smart with a Fibaro Double Switch. I see three wires, probably one for open, one for close and the ground,  ut I can’t make that up from the text. If so, you probably have to be careful not to put current on both wires for open and close with any script. 220 volts is enough the burn something down, so be careful with these kind of setups.

  • Ok. Thanks for your answer.

And what about the flood sensors? Do you know / recommend any of those to work with HC3?

Sorry, I don’t know them. I just use the Fibaro flood sensors, I don’t experiment with those kind of sensors. There is a Zigbee item of (un)supported Zigbee devices. Maybe there is some experience overthere.

  • Hi,

I bought this iAlarm flood sensor and unfortunately it is not possible to connect it with Fibaro HC3.

This sensor needs Tuya gate to do anything with it and I, of course, don't want to buy a Tuya device.
