Home Center | Cannot access web interface

Question

Posted

Hey, so it all started when I forgot my password and clicked "forgot password?" but they didn't send an email. I then proceeded to try and get into recovery mode, which after I put it physicaly into recovery, the web browser didn't open on it's IP (10.0.0.2) so then I tried the 192.168.81.1 to be sure it didn't reset and it didn't. I didn't know what to do so I did a factory reset of the Home Center and tried to enter at 192.168.81.1 (it's this IP, I checked it in the router) and when I enter it into Google, it says: "192.168.81.1 refused to connect." I tried to put my pc into the same range of IP, I set it to static ip 192.168.81.2 with gateway 192.168.81.1 and it didn't work. I also tried this with a direct ethernet cable into the home center, also didn't work.

Your IP configuration seems off. Is 192.168.81.1 your router or your homecenter? Which subnet mask did you set? Did you try to reset the router? When you enter a fixed IP, you want the router to be the gateway.

    Thanks for the reply!

My Home Center is in the factory reset mode, so it's IP is now 192.168.81.1 (confirmed by Fibaro Finder). I read that the subnet mask of the Home Center in factory reset mode is 255.255.255.0, I have that set on my pc settings. I haven't tried to reset the router and I don't really want to as there are some locked settings regarding receiveing internet from the provider and would have to call a mechanic from the provider to set it up (only they know the password and are not willing to share)

    If I understand correctly:

if I set my pc settings to

    ip:192.168.81.2

    subnet:255.255.255.0

    gateway: 10.0.0.138

    dns:???

It should work? I thought that if the router is in the 10.0.x.x range it wouldn't work this way, so I tried to somehow set it up while directly connected to the Home Center and still no success.

    Thank you

    Martin

I fixed my problem (partly: I still cannot access either recovery mode menu or the factory reset menu to reset my credentials), although I still cannot get into the FIBARO, because I have forgotten my username.... Any solution?

Sorry for the late reply, I missed the notification.

Leave Gateway and DNS empty for the moment. The gateway setting on the PC will not work. The gateway has to be in the same segment so that the PC can reach it. So just leave it blank or if that's not possible, set it to 192.168.81.1 temporarily.

If PC and Home Center are in the same network segment, which they are, communication should work. Can you ping your Home Center from the PC? As you can reach HC with Fibaro Finder, I could imagine that some firewall is blocking communication.

Were you able to solve this issues? I am able to login but it seems as if I have no admin rights and there are no devices in hcl. And there is no way to restore backups.
