Today I tried logging in remotely via the mobile app on Android and it keeps saying invalid username password. I didn't change anything on the device.

@jason8612Did you update your app to 1.18.1? What version do you use?

I figured it out and it's the strangest thing. One hotel chain (Andaz by Hyatt) for some reason conflicts with Fibaro. Using LTE Or even staying at a different hotel (Hyatt also) i didn't have any issues. But at the Andaz Delhi and Seoul on both I needed to VPN to be able to gain access.

Never use personal apps like home control apps, banking apps, or whatever on public Wi-Fi, especially in hotels. It's insecure as hell and you are hacked faster then you think. Always use VPN or use your carrier network.

If the security of your apps depends on the security of the network used, I never ever would use those apps. An App should protect itself.

I think your response is very short sighted, but I agree with you that the apps should use encrypted communication, but can you check if the security has no flaws? It's easy to say: "the app should have good security else I don't use it". There are even security flaws in the OS of your phone. Why do they warn about public (hotel) wi-fi at every security conference? Your banking app is secure right? Why bother?
