Fibaro Wall Plug FGWPE/F-102 not compatible with Honeywell Evohome HR92 Radiator Controller?

Berry Linkers

Question

Hi all,

I am using Fibaro HC2 with dimmers, wall plugs, switches for quite some time without major issues. I decided 2 years ago to integrate Honeywell Evohome with 11 HR92 radiator controllers.

Occasionally I did receive messages on the Evohome about lost communication. But I ignored them as the system still worked for me.

2 months ago I decided to buy another Wall Plug FGWPE/F-102 for our floor heating pump, to save electricity. Installation worked fine, but it lost connection in the Fibaro controller every 5-8 days. So I sent it back for repair. Got a new one, and straight away had the same issue. I can't even add it to the controller anymore.

2 weeks ago I returned from holiday and noticed that 2 Honeywell HR92 controller lost connection and were requesting heat to 22 degrees celcius. I thought these radiator controllers were the issue. Switched them with working controllers and the same problem appeared. The heating controllers with issues were located nearby the new Wall Plug. Then I removed all 3 Wall Plugs from the socket and since then all issues with Honeywell Evohome are gone!

Long intro, but I didn't thought combining Honeywell and Fibaro systems in 1 home could cause these issues.

1. Is there anyone that experienced the same?

2. Is there a way to switch of the repeating functionality of the Fibaro Wall Plug. It looks like they are continiously sending a signal which causes issues with Honeywell products.

Many thanks!

I have a repeating problem with one wallplug that might be related. On a extension socket are three wall plugs. One of them operates a led light, powered through a transformer. Once in several months it looses connection and cannot be operated anymore. I have to do a reset on the plug itself: press very very long until orange, release and press once (see manual). Then it will reconnect to the HC2. Exchanging two plugs does not help. My theory is that the inductive load on switching off the wall plug causes problems to the plug. Some similar effect could influence your Honeywell products. Are they battery powered? If net-powered you can experiment with some net isolation electronics.

  • The Honeywell HR92 radiator controllers are battery powered.

I tried to reinstall the whole fibaro configuration and tried to add some devices. I noticed that with Edge and Chrome the popup didn't appear, even though I changed the pop-up settings and added the server address to the allowed list.

May be when I tried to remove and add the Wall Plugs last time with these browsers it left the Wall Plugs in a faulty state, causing it to transmit a signal all the time.

If found out that with Mozilla Firefox the add and delete process works fine. I took an old backup and removed and added all 3 wall plugs and now everything seems to be fine. Hopefully it stays this way.
