Z-Wave Wall Plug Not Reporting Correct Power Metrics?

Question

Posted (edited)

I have a Z-wave wall plug, Type G, model FGWPG-111 (attached to my washing machine). It's been working fine for a couple of weeks, but now seems to always report that there is 79.1W of consumption (although KWh doesn't go up), even if the switch is turned off. I can't reset the consumption either. I *can* turn the switch on and off, but nothing else seems to be working.

Is this something others have experienced? What's the solution?

If it matters, I'm using OpenHab to monitor consumption, and send me alerts when the washing machine starts/stops (and it also calculates the cost of the electricity consumed). That's all stopped working because it appears to be permanently running because it's supposedly consuming 79.1W of power at all times :-(

The work around seems to have been "switch it off and on again". On doing so, the KWh reading went immediately high, which _might_ have been the actual KHh consumed for the time the plug was misbehaving (it seems a bit high, but still in the realm of "possible").

Obviously, I'll keep an eye out and see if this happens again. A plug that's supposed to monitor usage but doesn't isn't really much use, so hopefully it'll behave better from now on.

It's happened again, which leads me to suspect it's defective. Have started proceedings to return it.

Hello. Do you have feedback, a service statement?

Or did they just replace it?
