Smoke sensors

Vicent13

Question

Hi everyone,

i am thinking in adding a smoke sensor to my environment (based on a HC3). Have you tested any device (apart from Fibaro’s) that’s really worthy?

I have seen that the one from Fibaro is about 60€ and I don’t know if that’s expensive or not. Ib the other hand, Heiman’s is 45€ and, again, I don’t know if this os expensive or not or if it’s preferable to buy Fibaro’s…

I have also seen some by zigbee (much cheaper!) buy it seems that its fonctioning it’s not the best.

Do you guys have any experiencia on these two? Or in anothers? Thanks in advance.

@Vicent13Hi I'm using several Fibaro smoke sensors with hc3. It's also usefull to see the room temperature where they are mounted.

Thanks, mate. Have you used another brand? Do you think these Fibaro’s are worthy?

@Vicent13No I haven't tried another brand in this case with the smoke sensor.

I only look for other brands if there's no Fibaro device with the features I need, or if I've had, bad experience with it.

With other brands there is always the possiblity,  that some features are not working when connected to the Fibaro homecenter. Or there's no template. Then it can become very time consuming, just to change little things, manually with the parameters.

I also use Fibaro smoke sensors for years now. Had some false alarm, but lately none 🤞

If cost is a thing, don’t try to save on smoke sensors (perhaps on other sensors if you must).

Heatit and FireAngel are very good too. I wrote an article about the top 3 z-wave smoke sensors that work with the HC3:
