Irrigation system with HC3

Question

Posted

Hi,

I would like to control my irrigation system with my HC3 (with FGS 224 relay’s and use 24V solenoid vale’s).

We can only use mains water, so saving water is important.

Which solution is better according to your experience:

1. The weather forecast, i.e. don't water if it's going to rain, or

2. Monitoring the soil moisture?

In the case of option 1 or 2, what devices do you recommend?

Thank you in advance!

You could use hardware, you could also use QuickApps.

Would you recommend a soil moisture sensor and rain measure gauge?

If you want to know exactly how moist your soil is or if it is raining, get some hardware (if you don't mind the money and effort to get it working). But only a weather station can forecast the rain.

I use a quickapp for a local weather station and a quickapp for the soil moisture.
