Linking several walli switches to control a dimmable light

Question

Posted

How can I get control of a single dimmable light that has 2 dimmer switches and a switch.

In the HCL gateway, it is possible to group several devices with the "Device Grouping" function and have them act as one, but in the HCL 3 Lite I have not found it.

Does anyone know how to do this?

@JLFHello and welcome to the community.

Go to: Settings > add device > other devices > Linked devcies > Switches > Choose your devices.

I think it will not do the trick, as linked devices->Switches won't act as a dimmeable switch..its only a binary switch...

@Neo AnderssonThat's what I tought at first too. And two dimmers for the same load, wouldn't do well either.

But after reading it several times, I guess this could be a stand lamp with 3 lights, Two of them with a build in dimmer and the thirth light, controlled with a build in switch. I've seen many of such lamps.

But that's just my guess, @JLFwill have to clarify.

    Hi Guys,

Sorry I didn't answer sooner, but even if it seems unbelievable, I am still looking for a solution for this issue.

I am now going to expose an easier situation, but that doesn't work for me either:

I have 3 walli switch that turn on 2 lamps at the same time. Just turn on and off. No dimming. And I can't get all 3 switches to work at the same time, turning on and off from any of the 3 switches. Only 1 switch has the load.

    I have tried:

    1) I have set the 20 to 1 function on all 3 switches. This works ok on each switch: both channels work at the same time.

    2) As I have a HCL, I used the grouping function. This does not work because only 1 of the 3 switches acts as "master". So it works fine only if I turn on and off from the master switch. If I press the other 2 switches, the light does not turn on. This function seems to work only to turn on from the APP or from the computer.

    3) The only possible way seems to be to use associations, but I have not been able to get it to work well with associations.

It always happens, that if I turn on and off from different switches, after a while, some hoop stays on, even if the light is off, or the light stays on, even if the hoops are off.

Summary: can someone help me to program the asociation between the 3 switches to get all 3 switches to act at the same time, no matter from which of the 3 you turn off and on (local mode, using push. No app or computer).

Tank you in advance for your help...
