Dimmer and smart bulbs

mi38k

Question

Hi all,

does anyone has experience or knows the answer if it is safely possible to connect smart bulb (like Ikea Tradfri) to any Fibaro Dimmer in switch mode? I know that direct dimming with dimmer is not possible, but what about just turning power on/off?

I am just thinking about possibilities and I am too afraid to try it as I feel that it might not be entirely safe :).

Yes it is fine to just turn a smart bulb on and off. But there's no real reason to do so? Just leave the power always connected.

  • Yep, the thing is that I already have dimmers installed and they need load to operate, so this seems to be easiest way in case I decide to go this way. Anyway, thanks for the confirmation :)
