Create a virtual device (button) to start a report

Question

Posted

I want to make a virtual device (start button) to start a lua program which generates a report.

In the knowledge base I found this:

Please login or register to see this code.

But this is all HC2 and not HC3. I cannot reproduce these steps in HC3.

So my questions are:

- How can I create a virtual device in HC3? Which steps should I follow? Any tutorial or manual available?

- When I open a Quickapp I get a edit window with on the lefthandside some options (Device, label, drag and drop). Where can a tutorial to use these options in my Quickapp?

On the HC3 we call it QuickApps, you have found the edit window. There is a manual for creating QuickApps:

Please login or register to see this link.

You can start there. There is a small example for a slider (button) in that manual.

To catch a "normal" button, the code (next to the onInit()) could be something like:

Please login or register to see this code.

But I would recommend to try to read through the manual first, to get a bit acquainted with QuickApps.

    Thanks.

I could not figure out how the left panel works. On youtube I found an example. With your answer It is all now pretty obvious.
