Can someone explain to me the functionality of linking a temperature sensor to a heating zone? How can I set up this sensor, either with LUA or the APP?

Setup for what?

@Alex VI'm using this to steere my radiator thermostats.

The heating radiators are usually mounted below a window in the room. The temperature in the vincinity of a window, can be 2-3 degres below the temperature in the middle of the room. Espacally in an older house, with low wall and window insulation.

If the climate zone in the fibaro homecenter, is following the temperature from a radiator thermostat mounted at a window, the temperature in the middle of the room, can be to warm.

Therefore I've placed a temp sensor in the middle of each room, with radiator thermostats. The climate zone then follows the temp from the sensor in the room, not the temp from the radiator thermostat.

To configure this, you don't need LUA. Just configure the climate zone and choose the temp sensor, it should follow. This is especially usefull when you have large rooms, with multiple radiator thermostats, each off them, showing different temperaturs.

The fibaro heat controller also has an optional temp sensor, that can be placed somewhere in the room. I've tryed this device and didn't like it.

Since then, I'm using the eurotronic spirit zwave thermostats, for the radiators.

Hi Fabir, thanks for the explanation I now use a LUA script to set this up nice that it can now be done this way too.

Just remains the challenge of how to control the boiler on and off in time based on the heat need in the zone, I had hoped there would be an option for that too.

I now have 7 zones in use and control this nicely with LUA works well but would be nice if that could be controlled directly from the heating zone.

Hi Fabir thanks my set works roughly this way only I use another variable per zone so I can easily see in a dashboard which zone is requesting heat and I also switch the boiler based on this variable.
