What is the “right” way to make a motion detector to only work winging certain time interval?

Question

Posted

I would like to make the motion detector to only work during certain hours. Relaying on ambient light doesn’t seem to be reliable enough, so I guess I’ll need to do some scenes tricks. However, I prefer to use associations to turn the light on and off in order for thighs to work in case of broken or missing controller. I assume there are no other options except for the scenes?
