Best Tablet for Fibaro - iPad or Android?

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi all,

I am looking to get a tablet to sit on my wall to control my smart home of 30+ fibaro devices with a HC3.

I have a Hilkvision intercom andriod but I can load up my fibaro Yubi app on it.

So I plan to buy a Ipad or Andriod tablet for the other 2 floors in my house.

Asking should I get a Ipad or Andriod tablet.

Any suggestion is one is better than the other?  It will be wifi connected and just run the YUBI app and the intercom from HikVision.

I am leaning towards Ipad as I like apple.  Any Pros and cons is appreciated.

If you want something that is permanently attached to the wall, then use iPad.

Dont you guys think an Ipad is a little overkill for only the Yubi app?

I think you can use any cheap Android tablet for that.

@ppeterr, Yes, it may be. But if you look how cheap Android tablets and iPads holding out while permanently plugged-in and OS support longetivity then I think iPad is better.

I prefer Android (and not only because of the price)...

    I do use

application on Android tablet for in-house messaging including GPS location of the family members.

    In addition, the

application has a wakeup option, so the tablet display is not always on, but is waking up by motion sensor installed nearby the tablet.

To keep display ON for 24/7 for years is not a healthy situation for any device....

OK here is the next question,  Im keen on a older Ipad as dont need the bells and whistles.  I plan to have this attached to the wall and not have the power cord hanging out.

    What brackets does everyone use?

    here are some I found
