Question

Posted

Hi - is there a way when setting scenes to group all lights to turn off.

so leaving the house i turn off everything?

seems laborious to set each room's lights if on, then turn off and setting each light etc.

If you want to make it in scene, then the best way is to create linked devices.

Group the lights together, then in scene select the master device for turn them all ON or OFF together.

    I don't use scenes.

In profile you can do exactly what you want for home, away, vacation and night specified for each room.

There are in my opinion easier ways to accomplish with Eventrunner or All In One

I am a big fan of Single Scene Event (Eventrunner)

There I have different schedules for Time Off the Day such as Rise, Morning, Afternoon Evening, Night(decided in early and late and

specified, curtain open have clouds, curtain closed Tv on, curtain closed TVoff, curtain closed TV off late evening/ night.

    Succes

Yes because you opted for hiding devices involved..

If you want to get it work by scenes, just do it with linked devices.

I am personally using LUA scripts, and quickapps for almost everything, because they are more flexible, but using scenes is perfectly fine.

If you once get more familiar with programming, there are several helper librarie. One is that @Sjakie mentioned, or there are others too. I am using fibaroExtra from the beginning, that was created by @jgab, but as I said, using a scene, and linked device is also prefectly fine, if you don't plan dive into it mor deeply, just stick to scenes.

Once you get into sitation, when scenes won't be enough to reach your goal, maybe then you can turn to some other option.

Well it is self explanatory. If you are about to group switches, than it should be a switch, if they are dimmers or whatever multilevel devices, than use multilevel switch etc,
