HC3 RGBW scene using motion and lux

Hallamnet

Question

Hi All.

New to the Fibaro HC3 scene and would like to ask for some help with a scene I want to run.

We use RGBW strips all over the house without switches and also Fibaro eye ball motion sensors. I am looking for a scene that will turn on RGBW strips to white when motion is detected and with turn off when motion in not detected after a certain amount of time. Also to know when is night and when is day so lights will not come on during the day and only when dark. I have setup a block scene for this that will change a variable and does work but i am sure there is a better way to accomplish this.

I have been using, on my old HC2, the SLS by @Sankotronic

and this has proved very reliable with no issues at all in the last 5+ years of service but is not compatible with the HC3. I am not great with LUA coding and have tried to get a Block scene working but lights keep staying on and rather than just white coming on, all 4 colours come on and it is not what I want.

I will post my 4 block scenes below but wondered is anyone can help me out with LUA or block scenes?

Some of my rooms have only 1 EB motion sensor and 1 LED controller where as some have multiple motion sensors and RGBW strips. Some of the controllers are the older type Fibaro RGBW controllers and some of them are the newer type; both show up very different on the HC3

A few examples: -

1x RGBW controller running an RGBW strip on the stairs and 3 motion sensors; 2 either end of the landing and 1 in the hallway downstairs

3x RGBW controllers running RGBW strips in the kitchen and 1 motion sensor to control them.

Thanks all,

Hal

1. Try not using predefined colors.Try add your own. In thepast i had some bugs with predefined colors. It was quite long ago, but maybe..

2. Try using the color controller endpoint for turning ON OFF the device. It should work.

Also i dont think it is necessary to use a global variable for determining what daypart is, as you are using a lux sensor anyway. Just put the lux sensor value as a condition.

Just some tips.

@Neo AnderssonCan you tell how to set and save your own colors with the current firmware? I know how to do it with a scene.

What do you mean? You can set the color in block scene (you say you know how to do it), or you can set colors by LUA script.

Ther is no possibility (AFK) to customize presets.

In scenes you can choode other color, and choose your desired one.

In lua, i believe it is hub.call(id, setColor, '#123456') where '#123456' sholud be the color code

  • Thanks for the replies on this.

I am testing out the AOQ at present and have managed together it running with programs but still not too sure on the coding for RGBW v 1 and 2 (I have a mix) just to turn on the white channel @ say 60% brightness.

If anyone help, I would be very grateful.

    Regards,

I am not sure if i got you, but if you want to control only some channel separately, just use its endpoint. Every RGBW light is divided into 4 separate channels, so just select the one that is controlling the WHITE color, and do your actions on it.
