Still says off when device is turned on

When I turn on my device it still says "Off" under the device's name, I assume it has something to do with variables but I am not sure and can't figure it out, can you please suggest something for me to try?

What device? What gateway? Please be more specific

... and did THAT device work with HC3 sometime in the past?
