Opening an FGS-223

Question

Posted (edited)

All,

One of my FGS-223 modules suffers from a loose contact on the PCB.

When switching output the relay doesn't switch (audible) and no mains voltage is available on the output.

when gently hitting the case with the back side of a small screw driver the relay clicks and the mains voltage becomes available on Q2 output.

Output 1 works without issues

Question:

How to open the module without damage

    It's only a test lead and has nothing to do with the question, the copper is not exposed.

    It's a way of working, now the copper is't exposed perhaps when moving it ....

    Safe working means to come back at home in the same shape as when you left!! Avoid any possible non conformity.

    Same behavior on other output?

    Succes

    @ATBMASTER

    Hello,

    I won't comment on the cut insulation... I understand, it's a test cable... I won't comment on the use of ferrules on the cable wires.. it's a test cable.

    I did not open the Fibaro modules then. However, on various boxes (for example, power supplies), which are heat-pressed/glued, in most cases gentle pressure in a vise... or, use isopropyl alcohol. After soaking the joint for a few drops (drip), release the glued part and it should start to heat up. But as I said, I haven't opened the Fibaro modules yet.

    I dont think this is a loose connection. This might be a case of the relay contacts welding? Possibly due to inrush current.  What load are you switching?
