set a device during night hours to be unactive

Question

Posted

Hi there,

i`m looking for a way to get a device disabled during night hour when i set the alarm. My current issue is that i constantly have the situation that one fibaro motion sensor detects motion in the kitchen (no clue what exactly it sees) and than it turn on the light in the kitchen (there is a scene when motion detected turn on light and wait 5 minutes).

So the sensor detects motion, light turned on and alarm wakes me up without need for in the middle of the night.

So i can not find out what triggers the motion sensor i need to disable either the scene or the motion sensor itself while the alarm is armed during night hours.

Unfortunately i`m unable to find a way how to do it. Anyone a idea how to proceed?

Thanks a lot.

cheers,

Ahoj,

I would try reducing the sensitivity of the sensor

If you want your detection disabled only while your alarm is on, first you need to have your alarm accessible in Fibaro. I don't know what alarm do you have. If it is present in Fibaro, so you can access its state value within Fibaro, than this task can be solved just with a simple BLOCK scene condition. Wihtout hving alarm state values in FIbaro there is no way how to link it to your alarm.

So if you have it, its just a condition in a block scene.

In the scenes where your lights are turned on by motion sensor, you just put another condition right below the motion triggering part. Here you set that alarm should be armed when motion is triggered to turn on the lights.

Thats it.

Hey @Neo Andersson thanks a lot for your help. Idea is pretty good. Unfortunately i have to motion sensors and either one of both detects something should be disabled. So i have a OR and not a AND on my first block so unsure how to get the panel block into it...

Just use a block for the two sensors using OR operator

then a separeate block for the alarm wih AND operator

Or there is another method. Just link the two motions sensors into one linked device. Choose ANY logic when asked while setting up.

Then you get a separate motion sensor that will represent the two sensors involved, with a logic, that If any of sensors got breached, than it will get breached state too.

So having these two sensors linked, you can just use this kinda master sensor in your block scene from my first answer

Ah, thank you @Neo Andersson i didn`t knew i can use AND and OR together :-) This will probably solve my issue. Will give it a try tonight. Thanks a lot!
