Odd Behaviour with Manual Switch

Question

Posted

Hi All,

Apologies if this is a common thing and I'm just silly.

I'm nearing the end of a house build, and my sparky installed one of these switches. The lights they are attached to have a weird interaction with the manual switch.

Turning the manual switch on, the lights come on, but to turn them off you have to turn the manual switch off, on again, then off to turn the light off.

Is that acting as intended? My understanding was the fibaro switch just allows the manual switch to pass through, but that is not what I'm seeing.

Is it an installation error?

It sounds like the difference between "momentary switch" and "toggle switch".

Momentary switch After releasing the switch a spring automatically pushes back and disconnects the switch) Toggle switch Operates as a two-position switch, it has no spring that would set one position of the switch.

On page 9 of the manual you can read about this:

You can change that behaviour with parameter 20.

I believe they are toggle switch, so I'm guessing the parameter 20 is set as a momentary switch?

I think that will be the case
