Updating from Beta 5.141.59 to 5.150.15

I am currently running Beta 5.141.59 on HC3, but I have issues with Backup that I need help with before I dare go to 5.150.15

1. I do a local backup on HC3 (max of 3) and it's size is 448.5K

2. I do the same backup on my Windows PC and it is there at only 356K

3. First question is why the size difference ??

4. When I do an Upload backup on that same saved file, HC3 properly asks which file etc, then "appears" to upload it giving confirmation, but that uploaded file does NOT appear in my backup list,

consisting of only 2 old autobackups and 2 that I recently added

5. So before I dare upgrade HC3, I need to know how do I get to this Uploaded file from the PC in case the upgrading HC3 destroys my ONLY backups

@Ronald H I've been in the same situation before the update to 5.150. I hesitated to start the update.

I don't know about the size difference on the backups and the other points you wrote above.

I haven't seen any reports about serious issues with fw 5.150.

When updating, I did have the problems described

. When I followed the instructions from fibaro, the update went successfull.

I've updated two fibaro homecenters successfully to 5.150. The backups are now working again as expected.

I recommend restart hc3 before updating.

@Ronald H, HC3 has 2 systems architecture. During update you actually updating non-running system, lets say System B, and after successfull update HC3 moves to that updated system and first one gets inactive till new update.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

When upgrading the system from version 5.141 Beta, an error may occur during backup procedure. The system will restart, but will remain on the old version. The solution can be found here:

When You get into recovery repair from file (update/downgrade of OS) happens on the non used system and data migrates to that system.

Thankyou all for responding to my update query. BUT life is very confusing because:-

    1. I performed the update from beta 5.141.59 to 5.150.15 - all ok

    2. Entered Recovery Mode and loaded update_542_hc3.72 and Repaired - all ok

    3. System rebooted and restarted - all ok

    4. BUT my running version is now listed as 5.142.83 beta !!

    5. Am I now stuck in some sort of "beta world", and if so, how do I get to 5.150.15 ??

    Regards Ron H.

@Ronald H You wrote the update from 5.141.59 to 5.150.15 went OK already.

Why did you enter Recovery mode after that and loaded update_5.42-hc3.72?

I recommend to contact fibaro [email protected]

    Thankyou Fabir and others.

I now realise my stupid mistake in believing that Recovery via update_5.42 -hc3.72 was part of the general update process, not realising the 2 system structure for updates.

I have now simply (no Recovery/Repair) updated to 5.150.15 and all appears OK

    THANKYOU ALL
