Controlling irrigation pulse based solenoid tap

tzimber

Question

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to use the smart implant to manage my irrigation system.

My plan was to basically connect the smart implant NO/NC output to the valve, but there are a few issues.

This tap uses solenoid to open / close the tap. it seems, according to the manual that the pulse should be 60-100Ms long.

is this something that can be done with the smart implant ?

also, I need to change polarity (one open one closes) is this something that the smart implant can do ?

I'm adding the requirement of the solenoid on the tap.

Thanks in advanced !

@tzimber Hello.

so let's first clarify the current requirement.

According to the data, the resistance of the coil is 6 ohms. With a 12V power supply, the consumption is 2A!!! it is death for the Smart Implant.

So, here we have a fixed destiny. You are not.

If you do use a booster relay, you can also choose one that reverses polarity (due to the solenoid).

As for the timing, it is possible. Can be set in ms, see manual.

@tzimber

It also occurred to me that you can use the DC roller shutter controller from Qubino - ZMNHOD1.

Unfortunately, the load is on the edge (2A) and I don't know what minimum running time can be set.

But the question of reversion is solved here.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the answer.

    Does a relay can do a 100ms pulse ?

    What did you mean by a relay that reverse polarity? How would I controll that ? By connecting 1 relay to both outputs on the smart implant ?
