Assistance Needed with Associating Fibaro Dimmer 2 Units

pablogiganti

Question

Hello Fibaro Community,

I have three dimmers in my setup, and I'm trying to control two of them using the switches on the third. Here are the details of my setup:

  1. Dimmer A

  • Master: 46
  • Slaves: 46, 47, 48, 49, 50
  • Configuration: Connected to a incandescent dimmable load with a momentary switch on S1.

  1. Dimmer B

  • Master: 288
  • Slaves: 289, 290, 291, 292
  • Configuration: Connected to a LED + Bypass dimmable load with a momentary switch on S1.

  1. Dimmer C

  • Master: 352
  • Slaves: 353, 354, 355, 356
  • Configuration: No load connected.

My goal is to control Dimmers A and B using the S1 and S2 switches on Dimmer C. I'm not entirely sure how to set up the associations correctly to achieve this. Could anyone guide me through the process or point me to the relevant documentation?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

Pablo

  • Progress Made: I successfully associated Dimmer C (with S1 and S2 as "masters") to control Dimmers A and B. The association is set up as follows:

    • Endpoint 0: Dimmer A, Group 5, Master
    • Endpoint 1: Dimmer B, Group 3, Master

Current Issue: After setting up the associations, I'm facing a problem with the dimming functionality. When I use the momentary switches (S1 or S2) on Dimmer C, the lights connected to Dimmers A and B do not dim smoothly. Instead, there are noticeable, irregular jumps in brightness levels during both ramping up and down, which is quite disruptive.

Seeking Solutions: I'm trying to pinpoint the cause of this issue. It could be related to:

    • A misconfiguration in the association settings.
    • A setting on Dimmer C that needs adjustment.
    • A setting on Dimmers A and B that might require tweaking.

I'm particularly curious if the issue might stem from the specific groups used in the association (Group 5 for Dimmer A and Group 3 for Dimmer B) or if it's a more general configuration problem.

Has anyone experienced similar issues or does anyone have insights on what settings I should examine to achieve smooth dimming when controlled via association? Are there specific parameters or adjustments that are recommended in such a setup?

Probably you need to synchronise dimmers. Try to make linked device:
