No network on my HC2

Recommended Posts

My HC 2 have a fixed IP, have worked ok for a long time. Today i noticed scenes was not running, and a lot of nodes was dead. I tried to wake them but after some time they went offline. I rebooted the HC2, nothing changed. Then i turned it off, disconnected power, and turned on - and now i cant get network, the network lamp is not turning on. I changed the network cable, in the network connector lamps are flashing...internt is ok i suppose. But, no internet. I can not connect it at the fixed IP, so i tried recovery mode, but still - cant connect. Fibaro finder discover a Fibaro HC at 192.168.81.1 but no connection there too...so i am not able to reach the HC2. I have a good overview of all IP in the house, no IP conflict against the HC2, for sure. I have not tried a factory reset...maybe someone have tips for what i can do beside a hard reset, back to factory settings?

Hi @Inge ,

Here is step by step instructions how to deal with CH2 IP address settings:

Please login or register to see this link.

Another way is to connect PC to HC2 directly with network cable and change IP address of PC to static e.g. 192.168.81.100 and then use browser to connect to the HC2 and setup network on your HC2. After changing to proper IP address disconnect cable and connect everything back. Do not forget to change network settings on your PC.

    Hi @sancotronic

    Thank you for answering me, i did not know it was a workaround - i connected this evening and i noticed all IP settings in my HC2 was changed, not sure why or how, and as soon as i resored the fixed IP and also updated gateway etc - saved and connected the cable to router, all went back to normal. It is up and running again, so big thank you. The only question is how this can have happened? I noticed i had a message some weeks ago that someone tried to connect to my HC2, i checked the IP address and it was related to Amazon...but i have no logs that anyone was inside the HC2. Behind my fiber modem i have a separate friewall and router to protect my NAS and no sign of unauthorized entry there as well. Have you experienced that the IP settings at the HC2 or other HC have been set back to factory settings just without any reason? Thank you again, kind regards, Inge

    @sancotronic

    But, i was maybe a little bit too fast here...it seems like some of the nodes very often go dead, and i need to start them manually. They are online a short while, then dead again. Strange, but - do they sometimes need a reset and connect them again, or maybe your experience have other suggestions? :-)
