Dead nodes all the time (randomly) and veeery slow HC2

Question

Posted

It started with my old HC2, network settings was back to default several times...it was old so i bought a brand new HC2. I configured it, transferred all data from the old one, and it is online. But, lot of the nodes are dead, i can wake them but they die again simultaneously random. If i try to turn on lights using web, the system is very slow, and i often get "transfer failed", no lights and some of the nodes go offline again. I have SW 4.630. I imagined it was a problem with the old HC2 that is 5-6 years, but...no. Change to a new HC2 did not help. I tried to reset it - and installed the complete backup - still the same. I have not added new nodes for months, all have been working just fine until some days ago. No other new gadgets in the house that can disturb the frequencies Z-wave are using...Do anyone have any ideas what this can be? Hope someone can help.

@Inge I guess you've already spent a lot of time try to make it working. HC2 is EOL. No more updates.

I recommend to go with a new hc3. But this is quite an expensive device.

It depends on how many zwave devices you have, maybe a HC3L or Yubii home could be suitable too. These cost only around 100 USD.  You can connect up to 40 Zwave devices. But I would'nt max it out. Up to 30 zwave devices would be fine.

The GUI is much better. Scenes have more features. Alarm Panels are much easyer to handle. etc.

I'm stil missing the temp and energy panels that are on hc2/hcl.

Thank you, i was thinking about HC3 too, but in my case here - HC2 have been working 100% good, and even with a brand new one a lot of nodes/devices go dead - so i think it is not the HC2 that is the problem. Maybe one of the nodes/devices are blocking or polling too often - so i am thinking to disconnect/disable one after the other and see if that can help. I have asked Fibaro support too where i can find logs to see how the nodes/devices are working, but still no answer. Kind regards, Inge
