Home Center 2 power metering devices

Question

Posted

Hi all,

here is another report regarding HC2. I know this is an old box, but I believe there are still many users that didn't replace it with HC3 or Home Assistant :-).

Since I finished my UHAS for HC2 and using its benefits I noticed that occasionally power metering devices are reporting insane measurements which are not possible. This includes Fibaro FGWPF-102, Aeotec HEM gen 5 and Aetotec heavy duty switch.

This spikes occur randomly and usually when I get message for abnormal measurement and go check device is already showing normal consumption.

I checked event history and I could not find any of this spikes recorded there. All I have is my UHAS Home Energy VD that sends alarm message if consumption breaches threshold and ANC Message Queue which records alarm messages whether they are sent or not.

BTW - last occurrence was with Aeotec heavy duty switch that is used to control swimming pool pump and it is definitely not switched on since pool is now conserved and covered waiting for the next season.

@Sankotronic I've seen high power spikes, randomly occur from an aeotec HEM gen 5 3phase device, connected to a homecenter light.

Now it's connected to a hc3 and I haven't seen this anymore.  Maybe because the sensor graphs on hc3 and hc3l, are stil unusable garbage.

The temp and power graph panles, where some of the best features on hc2 and hcl. I miss them a lot.

Can you recommend a VD for HEM Gen5 3-Phase to clearly display the available info (total energy consumption and each phase consumption along voltage and amps)?

@smprofx I don't know, if there is a VD forthe HEM Gen5 and hc2?

In the controller, you should see what you have mention above. On the fibaro app, I've used the amps per phase and the total amps, to see about the power consumption.

With hc3, hc3l and yubii home you can see all the metrics, in the controller and the yubii app. The HEM Gen5 must be updated to the latest firmware, in order to work with the latest homecenters.
