I'm trying to set a parameter on a fibaro single switch.. so that it opens two contacts for 1 second. this is for a garage door..

my button is connected to Q and the second L.. and connected to a multimeter. a button changes this to closed, but permanently.

According to Vesternet, i have to change parameter 4 to a value of 10.

I'm trying to change it with a hubitat C8.

however, i have two problems.. one is that the simple parameter changer in Hubitat. doesn't seem to be changing anything.

and two, the module doesn't seem to have a pararameter 4.. they start at 9.. Hubitat query.. shows these parameters...

@Moradin

You do not mention which model of switch you have, but from your parameter list it looks like a Fibaro FGS-213.
You do not mention which automation on Vesternet your example comes from, but it probably refers to Fibaro FGS-212 where your missing parameter is located.
By comparing these parameter lists, you can figure out how your switch should be configured.
For example, parameters 3 and 4 in FGS-212 correspond to parameters 10 and 12 in FGS-213.

@Moradin

Btw Im not sure this is correct anyway. As far as is understood you switch high AC voltage to control your gate? The gates i know where controlled by potential free switches, that means you better use smart implant.

But if you are certain please ignore the post.

P.S if not you can easy test this.

Yes, it is important to separate high and low voltage in the switch so that you do not burn up the port lock.
If you do not want to use a Smart Implant, you can use a Fibaro FGS-214 or an FGS-212 where the relay is isolated (potential-free) from the switch's supply voltage.
If the lock is powered by 24V DC, the best option is an FGS-214 which can then be connected and powered directly by that voltage.

I don't wanna hijack moradins post but FGS-214 operates like FGS-211/212? I have issues with reportings on powerconsumption with FGS-223 on HC3 so i think about FGS-224 but coudn't find any parameters about powerreports in the manual. That's why im search the forum. ☺️

@Moradin My gates controlled by HC, provides external ports for controlling, but these are all connected to their own controlling system and not to the motor. So don't put any voltage on these ports, except your manual says so, this may damage your board.

    It's an FG213.

    and using Q and S1 contacts.. (there is no voltage)..

    I was able to set it to momentary action with parameter 10. and it does switch over. but very quickly.. i'm not sure which parameter, allows me to change the contact time.

    Parameter 10-1-4 seems to set it to a momentary operation.

    parameter 12 seems to be.. not how long the contact is open.. but the delay, Before the contact is closed... ???

    You set parameter 10 to 4 (auto off)

    and 11 to 1 or 2 (0 means 0.1 sec, 1  = 1 sec, 2 = 2sec ..... before auto off) Even if you use a normal switch the contact is off after the time on parameter 11. You have to switch off before you can switch on again.

    With a momentaryswitch the contact is off due to parameter 11. no matter how long you hold down the switch. I can't exactly tell what happens if you switch off earlier, I presume the contact is on even if you release when parameter 20 is set to 0

    Parameter 20 is which kind of switch you use with S1.

    But you switch the voltage of the Lead contact.

    I don't understand people who are not educated in electricals and try to figure out their own wiring. After all, it is at least property, at worst life!

    @Moradin

    If you have a FGS213 as you mentioned, connect it according to the instructions for the FGS213:

    Please login or register to see this link.

    Your descriptions of the connections are quite noticeable.

    "my button is connected to Q and the second L", - you actually eliminate the output and do not have the input connected to S1.

    "and using Q and S1 contacts.. (there is no voltage)" - in principle there can be no voltage between S1 and Q. The button is connected to one terminal on S1 and the other to L. When Q is switched on, it connects the voltage from L. If you measure it at the moment Q is switched on, you will measure the chain L-S1 L-Q. No potential difference actually occurs, so it may appear that there is no voltage between S and Q. Okay, you'll probably measure a few mV.

    - this is a theory that I definitely do not intend to verify in practice!

    However, since this module only has a voltage output Q (from Q you get phase L when switched on), after connecting it to the control unit of the gate motor you will surely destroy it (maybe you already destroyed it).

    Either you insert a relay into the circuit (relay coil on Q and on N) and thus convert the impulse to a potential-free contact, or use other modules, as advised by RH_Dreambox.
