Walli dimmer and led strip

Question

Posted

Hi, I'm tired of constantly having to change all walli dimmers to switches. I've changed the light from normal to a led strip (9m - 9,6W per meter - 24v power supply 100W). That should exceed the minimum load? However I get flashing red after a few seconds of working led stips. Is there a way to make it work without the need of changing to switch?

I've disabled dimming in the parameters (using HC3). I have a few boxes of the bypass 2. No clue how to connect it? Is it on neutral cable before the power supply? I'm not good with the diagrams. Could anybody tell me how to put it together so I can understand? :)

If you read the manual carefully, you will find the following facts:

1) BLINKING RED – Calibration failed: installation failure or damaged load.

2) 0.22A-1.3A – resistive-capacitive loads (fluorescent tube lamp, electronic transformer, LED)

3) calculation: 9m x 9.6W/m = 86.4W + overhead = approx. 90W.

With a 24VDC power supply, it comes out to 3.75A!!!

So there was an overload.

That's why you see the reason why Walli was left flashing.

You can only hope that the dimmer wasn't damaged and that process stopped during a failed calibration.

Free advice: try a dimmer with a shorter strip or a bulb with a defined wattage! You will verify that there is no damage.

Tip 2: If you use the Dimmer 2 module, its load capacity is much greater.

From the datasheet:

Resistive-capacitive loads

Fluorescent tube lamp (compact / with electronic ballast), electronic transformer, LED 50-200VA

So you will have a performance reserve.

Thank you for the help. I was stupid enough to mix-up Load input.. I've put it the other way around and wondered why the device is not working correctly. I've also figured that the bypass 2 I've installed was done wrong. Thank you for the help and apologies for being stupid.
