Dimmer 2 - wiring in a 3-way circuit

Question

Posted

Good day - I'd like to deploy a Dimmer 2 in a three-way circuit feeding 2 wall sconces each with a 75W J78 Short 120V 75 Watt J-Type DE T3 78mm Halogen Torchiere Bulb. The sconces are in a small hallway area, in the "center" of the house away from any windows receiving very little outside light.

Can this scenario be supported? Or, does it require the elimination of one of the switches?

In addition, I would be interested in automating the amount of light in the hallway by dynamically dimming/brightening according to the time of day and amount of ambient light (taking DST) into consideration.

Presently using a SMART THINGS hub with some basic lighting automation and scene control. Any suggestions are welcomed.
