Question regarding automation and adding the device

Hello everyone!

 

I'm new to whole home assistant but was thinking of buying 2 double switches since my new home assistant system on it's way.

Currently I have double switche near the bathroom - turns on bathroom lights and room lights and also have double switch in the bathroom - turns on bathroom mirror light and bathroom fan.

There are couple questions:

Is it possible to automate things in Home Assistant that if i turn on the bathroom light the bathroom fan will turn on as well?

What will happen if this automation works and I turn on bathroom fan manually? And then turn on? Will my automation will stop working for that time until other time?

How difficult is to actually add the device into Home Assistant? I tried looking into manual but there was no answer. As far as I understand through home assistant I should choose zwave and it will find my devices automatically?

Not a lot of Home Assistant users overhere. You are asking about HASS automation.

I understand that you are new to home automation and you do not yet know how it works.
As Fabir and SmartHomeEddy mention, you are in the wrong forum.
You should go to the forum that relates to the controller you have purchased.

 

You don't mention which controller it is, but you do mention Home Assistant, so you probably bought a Home Assistant Yellow or the latest model called Home Assistant Green.
The Fibaro forum only deals with Fibaro controllers so you won't get any answers here.

 

And you mention that you didn't find any information in the manual, which manual?
Home Assistant's manuals are very good and illustrative with many examples (Fibaro has a lot to learn there).

On YouTube you can also find excellent videos about Home Assistant on how different things work.
I recommend you to watch these before you start your home automation project.
