5.151.47 (beta) update - LUA editor is unusable

Recommended Posts

After udpate, there is a nice try to apply some effects to editor and make it more modern, and we have those leading lines for code blocks..very nice that developers finally realized how oldstyle, and far from userfriendly is the current IDE

However now it is totally unusable, i had to roll back to previous version because i can not work

Editor just stucks randomly on some pages, and doesn't react to click away to another page..

I need to refresh the page, but sometimes even that doesn't help

I am on the latest and "greatest" firmware.

I don't have a problem at all, just modified a QA many times today and saved a lot of times too and no issue till so far.

I hope I ca do tomorrow my QA what is having a lot of unknown errors and restart.

Did you try with a larger QA? Open multiple files in editor, and try it if you can. Thanks

Ok, before playing with large QA:

7% free memory 93% in use

Upload QA 690 kb  Rules setup time: 15.970 seconds (979 rules) >>modified around 20 times and saved

I open another 3 QA's (370,280,310 kb)  all is running with also debug window open

Installed QA's Sonos, Updater, Telegram, Logitech, COH, Open weather, Energie monitor, Yamaha, and some smal ones

2% free memory and 98% in use.

Remark it take 1-3 seconds more to switch the light on.

    All open screens are life.

Will delete QA and restart HC3

No buffer and no cache? That is impossible.

It's only to show that HC3 memory is high yes cache and buffer are present to but in my opinion not relevant.

Buffer and cache aren't used memory.

For me the editor gets "stuck" too - can't click between QA file tabs.

It has always helped (so far) to refresh the web page.

It happens with small 2 file test QAs, so size doesn't seem to matter.

Sometimes the page refresh helped for me, sometomes did not. So I rolled back to latest stable FW.

Hi @Neo Andersson, have you tested the editor in recent updates? Thank you

Yes I did for version 5.1.53 beta: the main change (except blue color for buttons) is the way of displaying the Select type button : with the new view it is more a scrolling list with 2 buttons than list select.

Hopefully you can go back to  dropdown list which is better than scrolling list as you can go directly to the desired option (preventing to have QA view changing for each scrolled value)

In fact it is a pitty that they have not add the possibility to have the old/new view to be selectable by button,  giving then more possibilities.

Btw, do some know how to change the color of a button in a QA?
