I am just curious on how everybody are controlling their heating.

Are you using the inbuildt climate panel/schedule?

set one setpoint on the termostat and forget?

controlling it based on price, effect Limit?

day/night timer, based on outdoor temperature?

a quickapp that expand the info of the termostat?

anything else?

I would Love too hear about it! :D

I have always used the climate panel and in a combination of Renergy QA's too manualy overwrite the schedule for 1 hour to set a lower temperature if my house are close too using the Effect Limit we got in Norway.

(we have Limits on 2,5,10,15,20kwh for each hour and if we only use 10kwh normaly and have 3 hour during a month on 20kwh we have too pay for 20kwh).

I also control the same way based on the Spot Price. if the next hour is expensive, it will lower my termostat about 3-4 degrees (where temp is set in the blockscene).

But this is set up with block scenes, virtual binary switches to toggle on/off the automations. and it isnt so self explaining how to use it 😅

But last christmas I had some time and found an interest in Lua 😅

and with alot of help from the forum and especialy the torturials from Jgab.

I think I got a thermostat that is more user friendly working 😅

when I open the quickapp for the termostat now it will show me all the Temp readings and the setpoint.
it will also desplay outdoortemp and last time it was updated.

Buttons for easy changing of the "Heating Profiles"

it is also possible to change and save the setpoints of the other profiles without chaging to that profile first :D

It is also possible to set  a day timer and a night timer (in the day, it will alter between the Profiles: Heat, Price, Effect and in Night it will alter between Heat Night and Energy Save Night)

the Day and Night function can be turned OFF, ON or Timer. If set to ON it will change when I change the house profile to Home or Night. But if I use the automation "Timer" it still listen to House Profiles, But it will go to Night/Day on the Timer too (if i want to turn Off the heat about 2hour before I actually go to sleep) 😃

Since I got the Renergy QA's I also made it listen too the Renergy events and display the last time the events triggered the Thermostat.

and it is possible to easy turn the events on or off.

And the last thing in this Thermostat controller is the autotime function I am thinking off calling the "Home Office schedule".
If this is active it will not listen to the MaxSpot/Price event between the two Times and only for the days selected(wed, sat and sunday).

It will still listen to the Effect events and everyhour events to avoid the effect limits.

I am thinking of adding some more timers like day and night to make it like a schedule like thing 😄

I am also thinking of adding a vacation and Away function and 2 Heating profiles for that with a vacation/Away Heat and energysave to trigger on price and effect events.

And maybe some buttons to set a "push notification" On/off and setpoint if any of the temp sensors read below expampel 10 degree send a push with name of the termostat and the value of each Sensor like a freezing warning.

also thinking of door/window sensors triggering energy events with the ability to enable/disable it.

But I also meet some cases I still havent figured out.

Because some times people want to just adjust the termostat manualy on the display and not from the app or QA. I tried to store the value each time before the profiles did change beetween the Heat, Price, effect etc... But with no luck.. it mixed up and in the end every setpoint had changed place 😅 (heat was 18 and Price was 23😆)

But I then tried to always store it for the profile that was active.

Maybe it is possible to listen to a manual setpoint change? and when someone change the setpoint on the termostat after 30sec or so it will store the value always too the Heat Profile? or maybe disable events for 3hours? should it ignore manual changes and go back to the active profile right away?

or maybe a few buttons to choose how it should respond to manual changes? 😅

but to my conclusion I think I got myself a more user friendly termostat that is still automated, but with a few choices how I want it. 😄

The Termostats I use in my house are Heatit Trm3 and Trm6 with electric floorheating with cabels in the concrete and heating foil under laminatefloors.

I do not have any cooling in my house, but are considering to get and airconditioner/air to air Heating pump for cheaper heating and cooling for the 3 summerdays we got in Norway 😅

and now I am wondering if you want too share how you are controlling your heating and cooling and what type of heating and cooling you have.

or maybe got some ideas on how to control it? 😄
